It has been many years since I last visited and all previous visits have been to the Black Cuillin Mountains to do some serious hill walking and scrambling including an epic travers of the whole Cuillin ridge over 2 days back in 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This time we stayed in Portree and mostly explored the northern half of the island including the Quiraing and Dunvegan Castle. The exception was one day spent climbing Blah Bheinn (&#8220;Blaven&#8221;), an outlier to the main Cuillin ridge which I had never climbed and was my last &#8220;Munro&#8221; (3,000ft high peak) on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skye is renowned for its rain and midges but we arrived after an exceptionally long dry spell and enjoyed fantastic weather as the photos show!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Skye remains as beautiful as ever but be warned it has been &#8220;discovered&#8221; by the Americans and many other overseas visitors &#8211; not to mention campervaners!
