A year after our trip to Mera Peak a few of us enjoyed a reunion staying in a lodge on Loch Lochy near Spean Bridge (on the way from Fort William to Inverness).
We had a great few days although very deep snow conditions meant we only achieved one summit in 3 days! We even failed to get to the head of the glen leading to Creag Meagaidh let alone attempt the summit!
My favourite day was to make a return visit by train to Corrour station on Rannoch Moor from which we reached the summit of Beinn na Lap. Afterwards we had a very welcome cup of tea at the Loch Ossian Youth Hostel. This day provided some fantastic views (and photographs) of Loch Ossian and the surrounding hills including Leum Uilleim which I had climbed back in March 2015. With so much more snow, the views were very different, and we enjoyed the company not only of the warden but also the resident stag who hangs around the hostel!
